Prince Charles becomes patron of the Faculty of Homeopathy
In June, the Faculty of Homeopathy announced His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales as its new patron. The news was widely reported by both newspaper and broadcast media, with Faculty President Dr Gary Smyth and colleagues conducting interviews on radio and television. Former Faculty President, the late Dr Peter Fisher, served as Homeopathic Physician to the Queen, and Prince Charles has successfully used homeopathic treatments on his dairy farms.

It is a health care system based on the belief that the body heals itself. You experience this when you recover from a cold or you get better after falling over. Sometimes things get stuck and the body needs a helping hand to nudge it in the right direction. A simple example might be having a bath if your muscles feel tight when the warmth will increase the blood flow into the muscles to help with relaxation. It is believed that the remedies can help with a better sense of wellbeing.
Homeopaths are trained to work with you as a person, not just on your problem. They will want to know all about you and, if possible, about your parents and grandparents to work out which remedy is best suited to you.
Your homeopath will usually prescribe a remedy which is a very diluted substance. They believe that the remedy will support the body’s natural repair process. In addition, they may offer advice on other natural ways to help you feel better.
Tina Turner wrote in her autobiography:
“Life in the fast lane wore me down, changes in my diet and homeopathy saved me.”
