Gentle Chiropractic Care (McTimoney)
Did you know that chiropractic is the third largest health care profession in the world?
Are you wondering what it is?
Did you think it was only about backs?
Chiropractic is a way of thinking about how the body works and how to fix it using different techniques called adjusting. As well adjusting, chiropractors may advise you on diet, nutrition and exercise to help you recover to the full.
Chiropractors believe that health is about keeping the messages from the brain and nerves flowing freely. This is why having a good posture and alignment of the back is so important. As well as the back, chiropractors will work on any area of the body to help improve the way you function. Of course, it’s much more technical than that but it helps you to understand the basic idea of how it may help with many joint and muscle problems.
Many of our patients come to Hiltingbury Chiropractic because we use the McTimoney way of working which is light and gentle.

What You Can Expect
We want you to be happy and relaxed when you come to see us.
On arrival for your first visit which is up to 60 mins, you will receive a warm welcome from, usually, Debbie, the Practice Manager. You will be given a letter to read which gives you an overview of how we work and you will be asked if you would like some refreshment.
The first visit will start with an in depth interview about your problem and your medical history as it is important to establish whether chiropractic is right for you. Normally, following the interview process you will then be examined (usually it is only necessary to remove outer garments such as coats and jackets) and your treatment will begin, with your consent.
Following your treatment you will be given an opportunity to discuss your condition and possible outcome with the chiropractor. You may be given advice on diet and exercise to help you with your recovery. Support is always available between visits via telephone or email.
We are always happy to listen to our patients if they think we can improve our service so your experience matters to us!
